**Due to rain in the forecast for March 5, this event has been postponed to March 19.**
Event Description:
Join us for this workday at the Colfax Red Cedar Preserve and Recreation Area (CRCPRA), a public preserve for hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, hunting and direct access to the Red Cedar River. To improve wildlife habitat on the property, efforts are ongoing to remove the invasive vegetation that outcompetes native vegetation. Along the hiking trails, we will cut woody invasive plants which involves using loppers to cut the brush and hauling the brush to piles. We will be burning the brush piles, so the fire will keep you warm if the work doesn’t! We will take a break from the work to enjoy a hike to see the Red Cedar River and explore the property.
What to bring: Tools will be provided. Please bring water and sturdy gloves; dress in layers, wear work clothes, and waterproof boots. There will be some uneven and brushy ground.
If you have questions, please reach out to Katie Hahn at katie@landmarkwi.org .
