Volunteer Workdays at Maiden Rock SNA – November 2023

November 9 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Event Description:

Are you curious about prairie and oak savanna restoration? Join us for these workdays led by the DNR!

Maiden Rock Bluff SNA was protected in 2004 and is known for peregrine falcons, 400-foot bluffs, stunning views overlooking Lake Pepin and rare plants. But there are concerns; invasive brush and other undesirable trees like red cedar are invading the remnant bluff prairies and oak savanna. Recent work has changed this site.

Volunteer workdays focus on seed collection and other restoration tasks. Some areas may have sloping terrain. No skills are needed as you will be trained onsite.
