Winter Ecology Snowshoe Hike with UW-Stout Students

Event Description:
UW-Stout students will be your guides for this educational snowshoe hike on the beautiful trails at the Colfax Red Cedar Preserve and Recreation Area! Learn interesting facts about nature in the winter season at stops along the route! You’ll enjoy picturesque views of the Red Cedar River and the pond too! We will return to the start to warm up by a bonfire with hot beverages and s’mores after the hike. Feel free to bring your own goodies to roast on the fire!

Location: Colfax Red Cedar Preserve & Recreation Area in Colfax, WI

What to Bring: Dress in layers and for the weather!

If you already registered and reserved snowshoes, we will have them there for you. No additional pairs are available through our outfitter. Please bring your own snowshoes.

Amenities: No bathrooms on site

Hike Length: Approximately 1.5 miles

Registration: Free but registration required
