The property is on the north side of 251st Avenue. Parking, bathrooms and a rustic shelter are available. The Dog-Island Loop heads north from the trailhead and offers over two miles of trails (3.4km). It is part of the part of the larger Hickory Ridge Cross Country Ski Trails (27 km) that continues south of 251st Avenue. All loops are challenging to the skiers and expertly groomed for classic and skate skiing by the Friends of the Hickory Ridge Trail.

No dogs allowed on groomed trails. Great hiking in the summer.
